How many of you know Appel's Drake covers and Drake-inspired work? Seems he kinda studied Nick almost like an apostle. Was pretty knowlegable about his odd tunings, and apparently was the guy Drake's parents entrusted the unreleased recordings to. He not only covered songs Nick never prepared for release, but did his best to finish a few musical ideas in a respective manner. Scott Appel did a Drake-insipred album (Nine Of Swords), a tribute album (Brittle Days), then Parhelion before he passed away at an early age (sound familiar?). I have not heard his earlier Glassfinger LP.
