I am not sure if gear for bands is ever discussed here. . . please excuse me if this isn't appropriate for this forum.

I am a singer who recently picked up a pair of JBL JRX 125 Speakers. These are monsters and I am sure they will sound great with the proper amplification.

I am essentially building a recording/practice space for myself and others in my community to utilize.

My budget is under $500 all I need is 4 channels so I can have these cannons behind me, and a pair of floor monitors in the front.

I was looking at the Carvin DCM2004L this seems perfect for what I need right now...

It has about 500 watts per channel. I'm curious is there is anything better out there. I am not afraid of going used, and actually would prefer it. I'm going to be needing a mixer board with at least 6 channels on it as well... Ideally for around $300...

Would anyone on here have suggestions for this type of gear?

    Any input would be great!

    Thanks!
