Funny, though that only works in English, since "boot" in German is pronounced similarly to English "boat." http://www.forvo.com/word/das_boot/

Instead of doing a straigh re-boot, they should change it somewhat and follow a crew of a WWI German U-boat.

I'm game...why not? why would anyone care if they remake a movie? it's the movie business...

  8. With a half-female multicultural cast of young, buff models, all up close and personal in a sweaty sub lit in teals and oranges? Cha-ching!

As usual japanese Anime stuff is always ahead of the curve - I bring you "GIRLS UND PANZER"

    :D

And what is totally mystifying, it is actually a great series.

Because some of us enjoy original ideas. Studios get more money out of me when that happens, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

    From the article:
That doesn't sound good. :shake: They're probably going to turn it into an action movie.

A remake of "Raumpatrouille Orion" could be fun, though.

I wonder if they are going to include some young blonde girls (added drama) and re-write history?

More evidence that mainstream entertainment is creatively spent. This classic movie is definitive. Why re-make it?

Perhaps it needs to be "dumbed-downed" for modern audiences?

That film is a disgrace to the memory of British servicemen by rewriting history so that Americans save the day. Again. Why even bother basing a film on fact?!?

Remakes should be reserved for bad movies, not good ones.

Imagine if it was remade in the US - Tom Cruise as the captain and a crew of Taylor Lautner lookalikes. Seriously, it's a great movie. How about re-writing Great Expectations or Catch 22 while they're at it? Or repaint Guernica so the people have better teeth and kids of 2015 can relate to it?
