Now they're going to remake "Das Boot"

No matter your take on remakes, remaking a movie from an already great movie is difficult at best.
I spent my Navy time aboard a fast attack submarine and I find Das Boot to be very good all around.

 

Have to agree. Das Boot was one of the very few submarine movies with any degree of accuracy.

i think it's a great movie, and i also find it very hard to imagine a remake that would be an improvement. (i used to be married to a guy on a boomer out of charleston. sure, a boomer is a different proposition, but all those guys loved the movie, too. of course, i had to have the mind-shattering stupidity of watching it for the first time when he was out to sea.)
