NYT article on copyright in Europe

    As this article notes, the copyright in Europe on recordings is only 50 years--which means that we may be only a couple of years away from seeing a non-RCA CD of Elvis' Sun recordings, among other things.

    Hmm, the early Beatles albums will hit the public domain in another decade.

    Well, in a sense, the Fabs' stuff has already "been there and back"... that was why so many unauthorized EEC "compilations" popped up in the late 80's-- till they were squashed by later copyright revisions.
