Just came back from the mall where I saw the Oakley Thump. The Thump is a pair of MP3 sunglasses that have a pair of headphones built into the the sunglasses and the frame of the sunglasses has a built in 256MB chip. The sunglasses actually support MP3 up to 320 kbps, WMA up to 192 kbps as well as good old fashioned WAV files. The audio rating on the amplifier is 20mW/ nominal, 40mW maximum, from 20 hz to 20khz. They seem like a fun novelty just in time for Christmas. At $495 a pair I think they will sell a ton of these.

Well at the very least it will be interesting to see how the New York and DC counterfeiters counterfeit this one!

Has Oakley jumped the shark yet? They had some amazing eyewear out a couple of years ago. Lately, I don't think I'd use any of their "radical" designs... :(

GPS would be nice with blue-tooth? Maybe logging into them might help me find them when they get lost between the car and the house?
