Like it very much. Also like Maxwell's Silver Hammer a lot. :D

Love it - Great pop song. Songs like this are part of the magic of the Beatles

    Yes, just one thing:
How is an 80's abomination by 60's veterans connected to a 60's tune from a 60's band?????

Side one of The White Album is sublime. It is placed in such a perfect place on the collection. Funny, I probably would think less of it if not for the excellent sequencing.

I've been curious for some time why when in Mexico this is the song he brings out the local mariachi bands to play along with. It kinda works, and it's great whenever he changes up his show, still - everytime it's this tune.

For a group like the Beatles, having a "Top 10" list would be virtually impossible because they were all over here, there & everywhere with magnificent creativity. I love "Obladi Oblada" a lot like I love a lot of Beatles songs a lot. What sets it slightly ahead of the others is the fact it comes from my favorite Beatles album. I could never say it's one of their best or worst though because all of their music was brilliant. My opinion.

I like it more than I used to, to the point where I clearly would say I like it. Same with When I'm 64 - great tune!!

That won't happen with Maxwell's Silver Hammer, I don't think.

A weak song, in my opinion. In comparison, "When I'm 64" is great.

I didn't vote because I really don't care for the version that was originally released but I absolutely love the ska version on Anthology that wasn't included on the original release. I need a love/hate radio button. I'm not holding my breath. :)

I think it is a decent little blues variant. Nice R and B variant in the bridge. Good song. Great song that rips me up emotionally? No but it is not supposed to be taken too seriously IMO.

Couldn't vote for either! Can't say I like (or love) it, but it would be a stretch to say I "dislike" it!

It's just a bit of fun, I enjoy it quite a bit. I love the piano and the cute lyrics. It goes nicely with the White Album.

I always thought that the gender reversal lyric at the end takes the song to a higher level right as it’s about to finish. It’s almost like the punchline to the bland triteness of the rest of the lyric. That’s the only bit of the song I really invest in when I hear it.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Marmalade recently, and after previously only knowing them for their hit cover of Obladi, I now discover it sticks out as a sore thumb compared to the rest of their work. Their other hits and recordings were more credible soul pop, light psyche and folk rock, but then you have this big silly faux ska novelty tune as their calling card.

A friend of mine was wondering this recently; is there an original interview source for Lennon describing McCartneys twee-er work as ‘Granny Music’, or is it just one of these phrases that’s become attached to Lennon over the years without him ever saying it? Genuine question.

I like it and the mariachi type horns, but let's face it. All Lennon/McCartney lyrics are just poppycock.
