Federal Duck - Peace in My Mind Federal Duck was a band formed on the campus of Haverford College in Pennsylvania. "Peace in My Mind" is a track from their sole self-titled album, which was released on Musicor in 1968. Sort of soft-psych pop with a surreal and mildly jazzy feel to it.
Quinstrels - I Got a Girl Obscure garage band from Tucson/Arizona. They released that one single on the Moxie label in 1965. They later changed their name to Dearly Beloved and released another three singles under that moniker in 1966/1967.
Gidians Bible - The Dream Acid folk psych garage from Bloomington/Illinois. "The Dream" (b/w "Love Is the Answer") was their only single, released on the Golden Voice label in 1969. Actually, they recorded five songs during these sessions. All these songs were released in 2017 on Alona's Dream Records as a 10" compilation EP "1969: The Golden Voice Recordings" for the first time.
Great single. Here's a better quality rip: Also pops up as being from Johnny Kidd & The Pirates but it isn't, it's that obscure band from New Orleans (this was the B-side of the weaker "Naughty Girl").
The Quiet World of Lea and John - There Is a Mountain Quiet World were an English band formed by the Heather Brothers in 1969. They released only one album: "The Road" in 1970. The group included, among others, brothers Lea and John Heather, and Steve Hackett on guitar who would later join Genesis. "There Is a Mountain" was released as the flipside to their non-album debut single "Miss Whittington" on the Dawn label in 1969.
Pat Clayton - I Said No Soul singer with a hard and heavy growl who released only two singles in the 60s. "I Said No" was released on the Hollywood-based DRA label in 1962.
I love playing this loud, the drums are out of this world! Awoomp pah pah awoomp pah pah...and the riffs throughout the song. Read somewhere a massive amount of money for the time, musicians and time were necessary for this rock “symphony”.
