WOW, I'm a huge fan of The Little River Band, so naturally when John Farnham came on board and then left to do his own solo thing again, my wife and I followed. I thought that I followed him pretty far back too, including the somewhat silly "Sadie, The Cleaning Lady", but I've never heard this song before! I have to be honest and say that I don't quite know just what John was doing with his voice on that track, but I don't care for it at all! This will always be the one song that, in my opinion, should have been a huge hit for John or The Little River Band, as John sang this live on their "The Net" tour (HBO Special, early '80's) and I had always hoped that they would record it, not knowing at the time that the song was a Graeham Goble composition and had already been released earlier on one of his solo albums. Many years later on a rare Little River Band Import CD called "Too Late To Load", EMI released the version that Little River Band recorded, but sadly never released when new, as it was one of those songs that was "too late to load" to an already existing album. There is no footage of the band from the 70's so this is from their reunion tour, live in Royston Vasey... ...It's a s**t business.
I first heard Spartacus by Triumvirat on a little independent radio station, KILO, that ran out of Lake City, Washington. "Kolorful" KILO operated from sunrise to sunset and played some of the best new music out at the time. It's also where I first heard Stranglehold by up-and-coming new artist, Ted Nugent!
