A lot of great acts mentioned already including two of my all-time faves, Gordon Lightfoot & Blue Rodeo.

Also a big fan of Great Big Sea (& also Sean McCann and especially, Alan Doyle solo), Honeymoon Suite and FM

More recently, I've really enjoyed The Sheepdogs, a super old school rock band. Going to see them live in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

Sloan, Rush, Blue Rodeo, Tragically Hip.

And I've got a soft spot in my heart for the first two Crash Test Dummies albums.

Also, I recently read the book "Have Not Been the Same: The Canrock Renaissance" about the 85-95 indie rock scene in Canada. Great read.

Just finished this book recently myself. Very informative read and turned me on to some acts I wasn't familiar with. More votes for The Tragically Hip, Sloan and Blue Rodeo plus Broken Social Scene, the Rheostatics, Spirit of the West, and The Northern Pikes.

I have also had a lot of fun in Canada over the last 60 years. I sat in the 19th row on the floor for the afternoon show of the Stones at MLG. Stevie Wonder opened the show and my ticket cost $4.95. Tons of Blue Jay games, Lots of nice golf courses (Glen Abbey - Lions Head), the hostels, the beaches, the record stores (Peter Dunn's), concerts (Air Canada), Hockey Hall of Fame, great restaurants (Ed's Warehouse), The CNE, Niagara On The Lake, etc.
Love Canada but also love my country and am proud of the headlines today!

Also love The Hip, Neil, Joni, Gordon, Bruce, Guess Who, Stampede, April Wine, Blue Rodeo!

I will just say that as a piece of music (NO POLITICS INVOLVED!!!), Oh, Canada is a superior song to the U.S. anthem. More fun to sing, and as far as pre-game pomp goes, shorter in length.

Off topic: and thank you, Canada, for the great game of hockey.
