  3. Stompin' Tom Connors was & always will be a Canadian beauty. Many of his songs were not only a rollicking good time, but a cultural and socio-political statement to boot. Stompin' Tom was 'The Man' here up-top in Canada...

The New Pornographers deserve a shout out, although Neko Case is an import (she lived in Vancouver for years).

I think a thread by Canadians would've already accrued some love for Corey Hart. I'm an American. I put him at #3, behind Bryan Adams and Rush.

True! Just bought Greg Keelor's new solo work, Last Winter. Only four tracks but all over eight minutes long with string arrangements & other contributions from Jimmy Bowskill of The Sheepdogs.

The songs are gentle and somewhat meandering, in no rush at all to get their conclusions but they pack an enormous emotional heft. Georgeous stuff.

  15. I bought that book wondering how they were going to fill 600+ pages on the subject without padding it out, and finished it thinking it wasn't long enough.

  16. Speaking of parties, their live album Live Party! is essential. Features a great version of "Cock In My Pocket". Alas, I think it's been OOP for 30 years.
