I agree, and as you point out, Dylan's always had a wicked sense of humor. Some--including many long-time fans--seemed to have forgotten that, or never got it in the first place.

It might be because of my general view of humanity, but I think possibly the latter.

I could care less if he appears in a commercial. This particular commercial however was a giant piece of crap.

In addition to the sheet music in the music store, did anybody else catch this Dylan reference: A man riding a motorcycle, then just a few scenes later you see a man falling off a horse.
Before either of those there was the Route 66 sign, it made me thing of "Highway 61 Revisited".

when this commercial came on I was thinking: Chrysler is paying Dylan for his fame.
after the commercial was over I realized: Chrysler is paying Dylan because he is GOOD.

  22. I'm cool with it and actually like it. My only problem is not w the spot or Dylan in it but that Chrysler is now owned by Fiat so the premise is flawed

I just watched the full clip. Is that actually Dylan speaking or some guy trying to sound like Dylan? I've heard Dylan speaking on his old Theme Time Radio Show, and that guy sounded nothing like the guy doing the voiceover in the commercial. There are moments when it sounds like the same guy, but for the most part, no.

If it IS actually Dylan, I'm impressed....and surprised. His speaking voice is so clear, clean and crisp. It makes me wonder if his singing voice is just a sham. ;)

Dylan is like a mix of Johnny Cash and Andy Warhol.
Don't mess with him and expected only the unexpected.
