Quite incredible. On the BBC news this morning they showed the giant tribute projections that they are going display on... the white cliffs of Dover of course! She must be one proud lady.

She had an almost Sheeranesque three entries in what's regarded as the UK's first singles chart back in 1952.

She was also the first UK artist to top the US charts (and one of only three prior to the Beatles), with "Auf Wiederseh'n Sweetheart" in 1952.

I t was an American song. And they have Bluebirds in America. I t was propaganda to entice the USA join the war in Europe. And it is nearly identical to the sentiments and tune"Somewhere over the rainbow"....funnily enough that has Bluebirds as well:)

They showed a few clips of her on the news tonight. One was her singing Sailing. Strange hearing her sing a song so closely identified with a more modern singer.

Is this album primarily the original vocals with new music or is she re-recording these? The article makes reference to the former but also mentions duets with some other singers.

This thread is a bit old, but I was wondering if anyone here has the Vera Lynn 100 CD? How is the sound quality?
