Charles Aznavour in 2009 at the Foire aux vins d'Alsace in Colmar, aged 85. Sadly, I missed his triumphant return in 2015!

For me it was either Stones on their 50th tour or Deep Purple a couple years ago.

Also Dio on the Heaven & Hell tour

Either B.B. King or Kris Kristofferson; they were both over 70 the last time I saw them and both were excellent.

Easy answer for me...Tony Bennett. I can't think of many other performers I've even seen in their 90s but he is still absolutely amazing for any age. I think that is going to make his eventual death likely in the next ten or so years feel different than most older acts considering how good he still is.

Very true! We saw him a couple of days ago, and he and his fabulous Rant Band rocked the house (he's 78!).

Saw Martin Carthy this year....in his Seventies. Fabulous Definatley the best show I've seen in the past 12 months.. Funny, great stories, played a lot of material he hasn't done for years and a great all round performer.

Bobby Womack! He was great and his voice was in fine form. Sadly he passed a few months after the concert.

I saw the Rising Storm at Philips Academy this summer for the class of '67 reunion, 50th anniversary performance. For a bunch of 68 yr old guys, they rocked, vocals and harmonies were great! And they can boast of having made an lp that's now valued at 10 grand. Can't say that about too many other bands :)

  25. Glenpwood

    Glenpwood Hyperactive!

I saw her in Vegas during her brief return to performing and she sounded just like she did in the seventies. It was an anti hit show so beyond brief medleys of Ain't No Way To Treat A Lady, Delta Dawn, Angie Baby no other hits were covered besides I Am Woman as the closing number. She did a deep cuts set of those Paul Williams/Don McLean tunes she always covered on her Capitol albums. I was the youngest member of the audience by 30 years easily but it was a joy to see her in fine voice.
