I had tickets for this Saturday. I was thinking this would be my last chance to see her. I really didn't expect this. I was thinking she'd be retiring. I've been a life long fan. Such sad news.

I am not a doctor, but it seems to me that this must be a new occurrence of cancer -- I mean 25 years seems a long time for it to lie dormant (and I'm sure she had regular follow-ups)....

Oh how sad. I hope she can find some time to do whatever she wanted to do but never had the time.

That is very upsetting -- you'd think that after 25 years someone would be out of the woods for metastasis of an original cancer. While stage IV cancer is typically not something one can "beat," I hope she has good success in managing it and that she's with us for many more years.

May God grant her a complete healing.... She is a brilliant musician (as evidenced by her singing ALL of the choir parts on "Don't Stop Believing") and the world doesn't need her ill....

Wishing her a full recovery. My daughter, Olivia Dawn, born in 1984, is named after her so I guess you could say I'm a fan.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Olivia. I hope she pulls through and beats this like her prior cancer diagnoses.

I'm in shock about this. Horrible news for her. I wish her the best, of course. At least she has access to the best possible care, so we can be hopeful that the can battle this successfully.

  20. My previous post was deleted. I am sincerely saddened by what is going on with Olivia now. She has always been a favorite of mine. She already went through breast cancer years ago and I always thought she had beat it. I guess they didn't get it all. I really hope that she beats it again.

This is horrid news. Honestly though, when I heard about her recent back troubles a small part of me was thinking in the back of my mind it could be something more, but I dismissed it. I mean, she's been in remission 25 years!!! Hearing that word "Metastasized"...gives me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

The good news is she does have the best doctors and care and an entire freaking hospital at her disposal, so if anyone has the resources to beat this it's her.

    Man....I'm in total shock.

Pardon my language, guys ...but **** Cancer.

I feel awful from hearing the news earlier. I was playing TOTALLY HOT last night, along with the BBC Radio 2 documentary. Hopefully the cancer in her sacrum has been found early, can be treated well/contained, and Olivia will be feeling better very soon. Truly seems to be a great person...
