They're from 'Beatles Monthly' magazine. Once they'd finished reprinting the sixties issues in 1982, the new issues started using photos from the same sessions that the original mags didn't have space for. There are some sensational colour piccies in 'Beatles Monthly'.

Beatles Monthly Books are one of my favorite items to collect! I've amassed a pretty large collection (218 issues), and they're certainly worth it for all the amazing pictures.

I believe George Plays the solo in You're Going To Lose That Girl on a Fender Stratocaster. Maybe that was first Beatles recording featuring a Strat?

I hadn't thought of that but you're right. It could be his Tennessean too though.

George played the solo on "All You Need is Love" on his Telecaster.

    He didn't own a Telecaster in mid-'67.

I own Strat and a Casino.

These guitars sound very much like each other when playing clean strummy stuff.

Turn the amps up and its a different story. The P90's in the Casinos really love to wail and sustain on the edge of feedback(think McCartny solo on Taxman)

Strats take more work to get that kind of tone. A lot of the sustain has to come from hand vibratto. (Think Hendrix and Clapton)

Agree, problems are just what a Strat does...

Indeed. I think the lead guitar on AYNIL was recorded live during the broadcast and George was playing Rocky for that.

It's open for debate. One thing we can be sure of is they didn't play them on Eleanor Rigby or Yesterday :) and quite possibly not on Revolution 9 as well.
