This looks promising:
Actually, the clip is from "Once Upon A Time". Grimm is a similar show premiering on NBC on 10/30 i believe.
You're right. I'm looking forward to both, so I got mixed up.
Can the Gorts correct the title?
Isn't this typical? One network comes up with a bizarre, unique show -- horrific fairy tales in a modern setting -- and we instantly have a duplicate show on another network? Crazy.
BTW, note that Grimm is co-executive produced by Sean Hayes, one of the actors from the NBC-TV series Will & Grace. Very funny, gracious man.
"Grimm" sounds like a knock off of "Supernatural" to me.
Cameron (Jenifer Morrison) from "House" is in this...
I was looking forward to this until the end of the promo when "from the writers of Lost" was mentioned. Now I am not even going to bother.
OH NO!!!! thanks for the warning! I did not know that...
wonder if they are off the crack?
another series to get rich on and have no idea where they are going, but to the bank on the minds of the viewers...
BUT Hey! they'll have that squid snot Kimmel to egg them on.
JJ Abrams = Do Not Watch
To be fair Abrams has nothing to do with this it's some of the other writers from Lost. Damon Lindelof produces this but had nothing to do with the creation of the show. Abrams actually had little to do with Lost after the first two seasons but I get your point
Alright, then, JJ Abrams and Writers Hired by JJ Abrams = a must to avoid.
I'll watch the first episode just to see her.
I thought the first episode was pretty good. Mostly setup for sure. Be interesting to see where it goes. (I'm a huge fan of Lost BTW. Apparently the only one on this forum)
my wife recorded it...I caught a glimpse of her...she is so dam sweet!
nothing like crack psycho writing changing a tried and true fairy tale...I guess it goes with the territory of egomania...
I'm sure I will get second hand reports of this swill...she likes to share.
And just to head off the typical "this thread is worthless without pics" comment.......
And one more for good measure.......
That's a pretty good measure.
The first episode was entertaining enough. I did like most of the cast, though it looks like another ABC show targeted to females where the male characters are nothing but props for the most part. The most obvious nod to Lost on the show is the flashback structure, as we see what happened in the Fantasy universe's past. That narrative trick ran out of steam on Lost relatively soon, I hope they move beyond it fast.
The premise looks somewhat like a ripoff of the award-winning comic book by Bill Willingham, called "Fables."
Never seen Lost, and we were looking forward to this. A little choppy, I think they should start something like that with a longer episode to set the stage better.
Emma's mother looked too much like the evil Queen.
The music was credited to Mark Isham but it wasn't very prominent and what I noticed seemed like Danny Elfman, again.
I too am a huge LOST fan. This first episode was okay. Jennifer doesn't do much for me, but Lana is a great TV actress and fun to watch.
I agree with a lot of this. The writing/characters of the female leads seems very good with the males very weak. The storyline looks like it may be strong enough to hold interest even though I don’t care much for fantasy, but I fear it will be too oriented towards a female audience.
I enjoyed seeing Jennifer Morrison playing a tougher character than what she had to work with on House.
Ratings were quite good for this show, we'll see how many stick around next week.
I'll give it at least another episode. The pilot probably should have been 2 hrs. long to make things a little clearer, then they wouldn't have needed so many flashback/flashforward episodes.
Good seeing Jennifer Morrison back on tv.
