gregorya I approve of this message

I was an avid fan of The Police, following them from the first album on... my least favourite album is Synchronicity.

It has some high points for sure, but I definitely prefer their earlier output.

Bowie - Hunky Dory. Some great tunes, but too twee for me to rank it among his finest. Much prefer his 1974-80 output.
Marvin Gaye - What's Goin' On. Glorified EP! He's a singles artist for me.
Sly & The Family Stone - There's A Riot Goin' On. I should love it, but it's too murky (and I love a lot of murky albums). Life, Fresh, Stand!....all great.

    LouLou?
I respect Metallica for never publicly bashing or repudiating LouLou. Class move on their part and it fits in with what I think should be the unwritten Musician's Code: a musician shall never speak ill of another musician.

  4. Brian Kelly

Brian Kelly 1964-73 rock's best decade

I don't know about "least favorite", but I rank several other REM albums (MURMUR, FABLES OF THE RECONSTRUCTION, DOCUMENT, and OUT OF TIME) ahead of AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE.

They gained some credibility from it too, or they will in the future. It's quite profound in its ways, but Lou should have had sole billing perhaps. It was a no-brainer that Metallica fans in the main wouldn't like it.

  6. The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead. Dead to me, anyway. Too much Morrisey, not enough Marr.

    KISS - ALIVE

It´s more valued than ALIVE II but I prefer much more this last.

I think the reason I don't particularly appreciate it is because I don't really consider it a "heavy metal album," but rather, a blues rock album with a couple of heavy metal songs on it.

Hmmmmm... Surprised no one mentioned "Born in The USA" by Bruce. Massive seller but the only tracks for me are the title and "I'm on Fire". The rest is just 80's radio fodder..

  11. That's how I see it. 'I'm On Fire' sticks out like a sore thumb in a sea of overwraught bombast.

Or at least not one they work with. They've been quite vocal in bashing Tull. Which is ok, Ian's put his foot in it about Zeppelin, teased Green Day, I've heard Martin badmouth The Stones, etc. etc.

I know it's lauded as their best my many....But Yellow Brick Road is not my favorite John release....I'd put it about 4 or 5 on my list....Its good, don't get me wrong, but its not my favorite.

    Bowie - Let's Dance. Eeew.
    Beatles - Peppers. Yawn.
Neil Young - After the Goldrush. Meh.
Lou Reed - Rock n Roll Animal. Nope.
Elton John - Whatever his most popular records is, I hate it. :p

Cheap Trick--Lap of Luxury is their second best selling studio album. Also their fourth worst musically, IMO.
