An EXCLUSIVE interview with IAN ANDERSON (Jethro Tull)!
NEW BLOOD, OLD VEINS: An EXCLUSIVE interview with Jethro Tull’s IAN ANDERSON

Two days ago I was listening to Steven (Wilson) in the studio as we were working on a remaster of the War Child album from 1974. He’s a good guy and I’m sure he will do a good job as long as he wants to keep doing it… but he’s got his own life to live, and I have to feel sometimes a little embarrassed that he keeps being given yet another old Jethro Tull album to remaster.

Minstrel in the Gallery is certainly my favourite Tull album. WarChild is on my must own list.

    Cheers!

Yeah, might be good enough. Although Broadsword with the bonus tracks would make me happy.

I'm so glad WAR CHILD is getting the deluxe treatment by SW. My favorite Tull album.

I like War Child and will buy this. But man, if he could get Songs From the Woods and Heavy Horses I would be very happy. I hope not to ruffle feathers fellow Tull fans, but Minstrel and Too Old I could do without. I would sub Stormwatch and Broadsword for those two.

Another vote for Minstrel! An adventurous album that will shine in 5.1.

Very cool. I just got the This Was collector's edition, why wasn't Stand Up remixed? It seems like all other reissues were.

While I'm glad they seem to be tackling the JT catalogue in some sort of order I'd be be more than happy if they'd just skip from PPlay to Songs from the Wood, do Heavy Horses, then be done with the project.

Mine wasn't either. But in the intervening 40 years it's become my second-favorite Tull album :tiphat:

"Bourée" was also one of the few tracks not remixed for the album Living In The Past. I'm curious if the multis were lost.

  17. As much as I love WC, I am not sure I understand the rationale behind remixing the stereo version of this particular one (I don't do 5.1). The original mix/UK-pressed "Pecko" master sounds glorious to me, so I would have skipped to "Minstrel". Though I have never heard the UK pressing of this album, I suspect it would somehow benefit from Mr. Wilson's great work.

For a while the last remaster with the bonus tracks from 20 Years and Nightcap has been on my to buy list. I've read complaints here about the sound of that one so if the Wilson version has the same bonus tracks, it may have been lucky for me that I held off buying the other release.

  19. You have a good point. The bonus tracks from those sessions are simply killer (if one digs WC); perhaps the best a fan (of anything) could dream of... and get!

Very cool, I'll definitely buy it.

Would love for SW to work on Minstrel as well, one of my faves. And I second Stormwatch as well, I just wish there was more material out there for it. My only complaint with Stormwatch is that is seems too short!

Going to guess that there will be other links closer to release date (for the Passion Play reissue there was a separate mp3 stereo only release along with the 2-CD/2-DVD box).
