  1. After reviewing the posts, I have come to the conclusion that, to me, turntables are like sailboats. Although some are more attractive than others, they are all beautiful!!!

I've got a Garrard Zero 100 that I bought brand new in the middle 70s. It still works fine even though I don't use it often. I need to replace the cartridge. It's got a Shure cartridge that been on it so long I can't remember which one it is without checking. I've mostly used it to play 45s for the past few years. Any suggestions for a cartridge that would work well with this tt?

I really can't make any suggestions. I haven't used or had one of those tables in a long time and I know they have different mount for cartridges that isn't you standard 1/2" mount.

Geez! Looks like the audio equivalent to the Mouse Trap game I had growing up back in the 70's! :)

This Garrard is exactly like the one my parents had in the '70s. Spent many an evening spinning my records with their system when they would go out. It was a quantum leap over the little Soundesign I had in my bedroom! Thanks for posting; great memories.

    Nice thread, by the way.

My endgame. I've seen it and heard it, and it is wonderful.
    Until then, this:

Mostly this thread just reinforces how many gorgeous turntables there are, in all different styles. They are beautiful machines!

  18. Just ran across this one recently. The Kartogen Audio Armatura turntable is gorgeous.

Seems to be a Polish DIY guy which is insane given how nice this looks. He does the speakers too!

I could be wrong, but I can't find any info online about the company and searches lead to DIY sites. Anyone heard of Kartogen Audio?

The only turntable that ever scared the poop out of me... routinely. That auto-mechanism could get awfully jerky/clanky, especially at 45 or 78 rpm, "WAH-BAM!!!"

    ...mommy...
    :hide: I suppose I didn't have a "Type A" personality back then.

Thorens 125 and the Nakamichi Dragon CT.

Obviously very different tables, but both awesome in their own way. I love the almost timeless look of the Thorens, but the Nakamichi is so nuts, that I just have to love it.

Replinthed Technics SL-1500MK2. It's not in use at the moment. Next, I'm thinking about adding an aluminum armboard to match the tonearm, platter and record weight. (I'm sure I posted this before; so, pardon the recurrence.)

It's a little blingy; but, I wouldn't throw back a Thorens Reference if I hooked one, either.

There are some very nice tables in this thread!

Spiral Groove's SG1.1 does the simple-and-clean thing very well imo:

I also quite like the spacedeck, which is good because I own one:

I've seen some really breathtaking tt's here on this thread! Thanks for sharing.
I still love mine, visually especially the Thorens with the SME Mk III tone arm, serving me well since 1978.

Here are my favorite toys in order of their purchase date:

The second is a Transrotor cellino 25/40 - with a proprietary Transrotor 9.1 tone arm (a tuned Rega 250)
