Man it sucks so bad! I'm totally out of space but that is a temporary problem! I lay down on my bed and insert the disc that way! ;)

What mods did you go for? Did you go for the bybee rail and the pulse mods?

Good work. I did the same. No regrets.

Did you ask for the bigger hole in the psu and the upgraded rectifier and Sophias?

Please post your impressions. My unit sounded great out of the box, but it t00k some time to settle in, especially for the bass to tighten up.

Are you planning on changing the tubes?

Probably on the tubes at some point, but not right away.

That's tremendous. I have to say that rig in silver looks really nice.

yeah i dont think Dan had made a silver PSU before...i think it looks much better than the black one for sure.

The Sophias and philips rectifier are really singing now. I was listening to some Donald Fagen: Morph the Cat and the bassline in that is incredibly hard hitting and punchy.

My Mod is complete, and being tested/broke in today and through the weekend into Monday for final testing and evaluation. Then sent out Monday afternoon. Long ride back to Ohio.

It will sound good right of the bat, but the player and PSU need about 300 - 400 hours before the player really starts to sing. The modwright caps in the analog output stage and PSU need to time to cook, as does the player itself. Enjoy your new player!

Yep. The biggest difference comes after your replace the stock tubes with the Philips 5R4GYS Rectifier and the Sophia 6sn7 tubes.

It's incredible how tight and hard the bass hits with these. The sound is so amazing and the noise floor is so low.

Since getting the modwright 105D, I haven't really been listening to vinyl at all. The difference between my analogue and digital setups now is just too large...

Well got it, love it ! I really only got to listen a bit as I spent about 10 hours rearranging my room. But finally got it in and cabled. I just through on a newer MoFi Bill Withers greatest and The Byrds greatest the original Sony, both SACD. Both sounded great, more over the next few days.

While I dont believe in the "it needs 300 hours to open up" suggestions, I played mine for about 3 weeks or so during the day and then changed the tubes. It did sound amazing after that. It's a gorgeous unit.

I see they cut the big hole in your psu! Good work. It'll sound amazing soon enough!

Here's a different take on how the Oppo can be upgraded. I've had mine done and it's absolutely superb.

I have it too. I have to crank it up a lot louder than the other sacd release but it's a lot clearer.

Made the hairs on my arms stand up the first time I heard it loud.

I would also recommend Pink Floyd's WYWH, Michael Jackson "Thriller", the Carpenter's "Greatest Hits", and Steve Ray Vaughn sacd boxset.

This looks to be a mostly DAC mod, which might go well with the modwright...we just need a monster transport.

I was talking to a mate saying that the Modwright Oppo with the Rasmussen touches would be an absolute giant killer.
