    Hello,

I wondered how many of the Monkees numbers (written by others) are available by their original composers.

I can think of a couple off the top of my head...

    NEIL DIAMOND: I'm A Believer
    HARRY NILSSON: Cuddly Toy

    Are there any more?

    TIA,
    Stephen

Nilsson recorded some more demos for them and they are available, not legally though...

Boyce & Hart re-recorded many of their Monkees-penned songs for their A&M Records Lp's i.e.:Tear Drop City & I Wanna Be Free from their 1967 Lp "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight?",and so forth. They also teamed up with the remaing Monkees as Dolenz,Jones,Boyce & Hart in 1977 for an album (Or 2,as a live Lp was also recorded, but never released until many years later in the U.S. it was first released in Japan in 1976.). I've seen Neil Diamond perform "Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)" in concert. I think there's a version on one of his recent live albums.

P.S. Diamond also recorded two studio versions of "I'm a Believer"--an early version during the Bang years, and a reggaefied version on September Morn.
