News soon, I hear...
It'll be nice to see a studio produced version.
However. The fan made ones are pretty darn good.
A New Hope silver screen edition is in the handful of films I've been watching on repeat. I think it's nudged itself into my number one, as far as Star Wars goes.
Time to sell those laserdiscs!
Are you serious Clark?
Hopefully these will be a normal release, and not a super, ultra, limited, deluxe $500 set.
I'll believe it when they've been produced, reviewed, and deemed officially the bees knees.
This is the year. If not now, then when?
I forget is this the version with Jabba(fatman in fur) Hutt OR tha Han Steps on Jabba's Tail version OR is it tha version with neither of them in tha Hanger..
Neither in the original version.
I would trade all of your souls for this to happen but I will believe it when I put Star Wars in my blu-ray player and hit play.
Thanks a lot. Sheesh.
This is because I bought the 9 disc bluray set at Christmas time. I knew it. They were just waiting for me to do that. You're welcome.
The Star Wars Original Cuts May Finally Get Re-Released for the 40th Anniversary
Yep and Neil Youngs Archives 2 is due as well.
The site seems to be up and down; not sure if they're being slammed with traffic or what.
According to chatter from the OriginalTrilogy forums, the author of that post (Jason Ward) was also leaked fairly detailed information on the big death scene from Force Awakens back in February of 2015. Apparently the leaker was then found and canned by Disney.
So there's a history of makingstarwars.net getting the occasional scoop, apparently.
Sounds exciting. They must be aiming for Celebration to make the announcement if this is happening.
The "guy in fur" Jabba scene was never released as part of the film. It was only shown in documentaries, deleted scenes, etc. They only released that scene with Jabba as the slug into the many edits of the film.
Hey, Lucasfilm, Disney, Fox, et al:
I hope it happens just so I don't have to listen to any more Star Wars fans complaining about them.
I'll believe it when the official announcement is made. We've already had several threads like this based on pure speculation and rumor.
^ Yes, I bet you have.
I'll believe it when I see the news on either the Home Theater Forum, Blu-ray.com or The Digital Bits.
