Also did a great collaboration with Miles Davis on Legrand Jazz in 1958.

    RIP.

"Vivre Sa Vie" is one of my top 5 films of all time (and a shot from it is my avatar here), and the music he composed is as crucial as Godard's direction or Anna Karina's acting.

One of my musical heroes died.
Les demoiselles de Rochefort, les parapluies de Cherbourg, les moulins de mon cœur, most of Jacques Demy splendid films’soundtracks and one of my child’s age songs about a dolphin in a cartoon « oum le dauphin ».

    RIP

Weird, I listened to it for the first time two days ago. It had been on my list for months and I decided it was time.

Alison Moyet just shared this on Facebook and also posted this video of a performance with him from several years ago.

Barbra Streisand's recording of "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life" nearly brings me to tears every time I hear it. Here's a live performance from about a decade ago. Not as "perfect" as the original recording, but still captivating.
