Have you created a tribute to the late, great Starman?

After a day of crying prompted by watching BBC Breakfast's little spot on Bowie's passing, I created several.

    My hand:

(sadly, after three days, it's beginning to rub off)

    My wall:

    (handwriting says: "requiescat in spacem")

    And my make-up:

(I recorded a couple of videos of myself singing songs from "Ziggy" and "Aladdin" like this, but my singing is rubbish, so I won't inflict those on you.)

Let's see what you've done for the Starman... waiting in the sky.

I went on a crazed Bowie shopping spree tonight. Including this unintentional tribute:

    Bowie would've liked the glitter.

Thank you. I bought a few Bowie posters tonight, so I'll be adding to my wall.

There's also a picture of me praying for oor aul' laddie insane in my make-up, but that'd get stuck in the moderation queue.

Interestingly: blue, blue, electric blue, that's the colour of my room!

A kind of tribute.....I played every Bowie song on the guitar that I knew yesterday. Age has made me forget some of them.

I'm ashamed to say that I can't play any Bowie songs. I must learn some. Perhaps I'll record some.

I made an attempt to sing "Five Years" and "Starman", but in addition to my vocals being a complete and utter travesty, I also chose to do so while playing an acoustic guitar, and I can barely sing louder than an unplugged electric, so it was just a sonic mess. I also forgot to turn my fan off.

So I no longer have a tribute, although believe me, I did try. It was probably more of a disgrace to his memory than anything else, though. :p

Instead, I spent most of that day lying in bed cradling my incomplete Bowie CD collection, listening to the albums and interviews, and trying not to cry.

He was one of the few artists that could take any genre of music, emulate the best that it had to offer, and put his own musical stamp on it.

My tribute was personal, as I have been a fan since I was a kid:
I've had him in my thoughts since monday.
I have played "Station To Station" once, but I'm still too sad to enjoy the music itself.

He would outdo others at their own style.

I've been listening to practically nothing but Bowie and Bowie covers since I watched BBC Breakfast on the mourning morning of the 11th. Catharsis.

Also this (perhaps more fitting, as Bowie was also more an upper person):

Barbra's version was a travesty, but an enjoyable one in a hilarious and odd way:

What a lovely tribute; good job with the make-up especially.

Welcome to the forum as well by the way; I am sure that you will fit in well here, especially seeing as you are a Bowie fan. :righton:

    You should've recorded it!

There's a Philip Glass recording of Warszawa, incidentally. I must dig it up.
