Just giving this album a spin in the cd player. I forgot about Black Rain but in fact when I got the album on its release day I didn't expect much or for that matter what to expect. Rain was a good solid comeback album for the Ozzman.

From day one this album grew on me I always loved its dark theme. "Lay Your World On Me" an incredible eerie smooth ballad. "Nightmares" with its soft futuristic intro is one of my all time Ozzy solo favs. "Black Rain" and "Silver", "Trap Door" and "I Don't Wanna Stop" are solid Ozzman tunes as well.

Black Rain is a strong album for Ozzy not a clunker in the mix. Zakk Wyldes crunching riffs add power to this album as well as some solid production by Kevin Churko. Churko keeps Wyldes powerful riffs throughout and adds a futuristic sound to them as well. I have friends that rip this album saying "it's not like early 1980's Ozzy, Randy Rhodes albums". At times they've even called Rain cannon fodder from Ozzy I always say I agree with you on Rhodes but I still think Rain in a solid late era Ozzy album.
