Cassidy looks like a bleached out David Caruso.

No booze and more humility and the guy wouldn't have to declare bankruptcy. He could make a bundle playing the oldies circuit. How many 50-60 year olds would pay big bucks to see him, assuming he was in good voice, good humor, and performing "I Think I Love You" night after night? I'm guessing a ton.

"Are you here to rubbish me?"...Wow....what an alcoholic. Why did he agree to that interview? He is not touring England. He could make a very good living playing the oldies circuit at the casinos. But a pathetic alcoholic is not exactly a reliable performer. He should be put in prison before he kills someone on the road.

    Go to the 1:50 mark.

And to be honest, there are certain portions of the field sobriety test that I would have trouble with as well, especially as my balance and coordination have deteriorated with age.

To be fair, I did sense those interviewers were a little snotty and condescending to him at first. Don't blame him for getting defensive.

He's defensive because he's trashed. He completely set himself up for it. That wasn't a guy who had a drink to just get back to normal. That was a guy who had been drinking all day before he's to go on tv to talk about some very sensitive stuff. Why he decided to do it is beyond me(ego?) but you could tell that he was in no mood to talk.

The male interviewer was a smug jackass. Would be great to see him turn this around.

I suspect his recent divorce is also related to the bankruptcy.

It is never a good idea to submit to a field sobriety test, simply because it is technically possible to receive a DUI despite being under the limit. It is however, unlawful to refuse a breathylzer.

You're pretty intent on judging Cassidy, aren't ya?

Oh c'mon, if DC hadn't been completely hammered from the outset, that interview wouldn't ever been half as bad. There aren't too many interviewers that would be happy to deal with a belligerent drunk.
No judgement here. But to blame the interviewer for being smug, mean, etc. kind of misses the point. I feel bad for DC, but his problems in his life are for one reason only. And believe me I know his issues with booze is an illness, but until he decides to do something about it I have very little sympathy for him. There are a lot of people who have had to deal with the same problems with a lot less to start with.

I agree. A W.C. Fields quote would have worked well in there.

Addiction is so tragic. It eventually consumes all aspects of the afflicted person's life. David really was a talented and funny guy.

David is an alcoholic. He CANNOT drink. EVER. His dad was the same way. The only time that Jack was sober was when he was working. And he was a nasty drunk. And it killed him when he burned down his house while drunk.
For the love of God David, get help before it's too late.

That's painful to watch, both from the interviewer's and David's side. The questions are awful, offered as if these doofs and all their viewers are entitled to intimate, personal details of Cassidy's finances. Once he says, essentially, "This is a reorganization of my finances because of my divorce. I'm not broke", that oughta be the end of that line of questioning. Maybe it's B.S., but it's his business. To keep pursuing that line of inquiry seems they're fishing for sad or embarrassing details and Cassidy's right to be offended at that. It seems patronizing. On the other hand, Cassidy looks angry, bitter, and in every way not ready to be interviewed on television. His speech patterns and general demeanor remind me of older men I've known who hit the bottle frequently and heavily for years. It's very sad to see and I hope he gets help. He's crashed and burned a couple of times and recovered and hopefully he can do it again.

I saw in the WSJ his Florida house is on the market and he specifically referred to his divorce as the reason. It's behind a paywall so no pics here but a nice looking home,
I agree he's tossing big $$ out the window by continuing to drink.

Who said anything about it being easy? But it can be done. There are many in this forum that can attest to that.

David has HUGE problems. Booze, ego have to be at the top. Many years ago(countless ones before Katrina), Harrah's brought him in for an outdoor show. He was a boorish jackass. Didn't connect with the audience, and his "Vegas Chic" didn't work well either. Maybe if he understood it is the FANS are the reason he's doing gigs, he might have a change of attitude.
