The rules for this thread are very simple.
    1. No political chatter even if the songs seem to invite those discussions.
    2. If you talk about a song you don't like and why, then at least talk about one song you do like and why.
    3. If you have nothing positive to say at all, then don't post in this "appreciation" thread.
    4. Be respectful of each other, please.
    5. Paul McCartney - Egypt Station (#1 album in US) deserves some accolades for a whole host of reasons!

    Let the games begin!

I'm here! I finally have heard the bonus tracks. Nothing for free makes me smile but I'm nervous to play it for others. Anyone play it for non Paul fans and what has the reaction been?

Okay, I'll give it a go..

First, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a song called Fuh You. I hated the whole idea of it and had made up my mind to skip this release. Then a magical thing happened...I began to learn more about this song and found out that one little word made all the difference...the word wasn't "to"...the word was "it". Okay, I'm listening now and not so hard headed. Then I found out that Sirius XM was playing the whole album a few days before release and would include commentary by Paul. By this time, I already knew that I liked the songs that had been released. After hearing the whole album I was blown away. I ordered the deluxe colored vinyl set from the PM store, but knew it wouldn't arrive on time. So, I was at Target when they opened the doors on that Friday and was the first one in the store. Had to coax a salesperson to get me a copy from the back because none had been put on the shelves.

Anyway, to the point of the thread...what do I dislike....NOTHING! What do I love? ALL OF IT! I continue to listen and love this album, and don't see that changing anytime soon.

No problem, Doc! Just trying to make everyone feel at home. Just like old times and all that! :righton:

I've taken a break from Egypt Station this week so I can run through all of Paul's solo works before getting back to Egypt Station. I remember some people doing this leading up to the release, but I'm doing it now. Always a fun trip! :pineapple:

Thanks Pepper for getting started again!

It's still too early for me, listening wise, to make any proclamations, I've gotta say Egypt is sticking with more so than any recent release, besides Ty Segal's latest.
As a person who gets on average about 5 new and used lps per week , ES, has not left the turntable or the car cd player. To me, I'm discovering more and more as I listen.
This whole thing as been a wonder, from the day of release, to the thrill of being the toppermost of the chart.
(I guess hitting number one has been a validation for me personally.)
I've a radio show tomorrow night and just might play the whole damn thing.
