I had never gotten into Ringo’s more recent albums until I started hearing cuts played on the Beatles station on SiriusXM. They are really good! My reaction to multiple songs was, at first, this sounds Beatlesque, in an inauthentic, forced way, but then I realized that is ridiculous. Ringo is a Beatle and if anyone has a right to emulate the Beatles, it’s him. I remember when Flowers in the Dirt came out, McCartney said the same thing about himself.

It was the first new McCartney single that I remember being disappointed in when I heard it for the first time. The excessive production sank it a bit and made it sound like Paul was chasing trends.

Paul has worked like a dog to promote this album, you couldn't not know that he had an album out. He deserves a no 1 just for that at his age.
By contrast I didn't even know that Eminem had an album out until I read it on this thread, I have seen no promotion, interviews or anything at all.

 

Next album should be a Paul and Steve Riks collaboration.
