Be careful - it only works if you purchase something after tomorrow.

So are they going to send you a check in the mail or something?

Google checkout $20 savings seems a bit easier to use.

Couldn't ebay just buy google? Then they'd use it.

I think Google is more capable of buying ebay at this point!

I believe they'll credit the $20 to your Paypal account.

Hmm... sounds like a bit of a runaround to me. They should just take it off the order total, a la Google checkout. GC is easier, less passwords to type in, no "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO PAY WITH CREDIT CARD?" screens etc.

Yes, GC is easier but it doesn't work on eBay!

I'm sure the big brains at google are hard at work trying to figure a way around that obstacle.

Sorry again - read it without my kid screaming at me to put on the Disney Cars movie for the tenth time today...
Looks like it is good for ebay - thought it was just the vendors listed. mea culpa again...

    No problem, I understand.:)

Just no free shipping if you go the ebay route, from what I can tell.

  15. I can't find the explanation of this promotion on the supplied link or anywhere else for that matter. Is there a link that explains how to take advantage of this and is it a one-time promotion or like the Google Checkout which doesn't have any limit?

AFAIC, this entire promo was very poorly executed. Could the details have been any more vague? Proceed at your own caution here, folks.:sigh:

I signed up for this, but I never went through with it, because the notice of the rebate disappeared from the PayPal Holiday Promotions, and I never got an email confirming that I had signed up for it, so frankly I had no confidence that I would ever get a rebate, or have a leg to stand on if I demanded one later. If this was a genuine promotion, it was a poor one.

Yeah...uh...all I see (and I realize I'm writing this 9 days since the first post) is a free shipping offer from some different places. Nothing about 20 bucks back.

It seems it changed the very next day after I posted the deal. I think Paypal is pulling a scam here. Sorry guys...I didn't think it would pan out this way. :(

I received the original email but I also received an email on 11/30 with the same $20 off $50 promotion but it listed various internet sites like B&N.com, Petsmart and about 15 others - you have to register before making the purchase. Heres the link I used to sign up:
    http://paypal.promotionexpert.com/holiday/signup/
I went ahead and placed an order with B&N.com and paid using Paypal - I saved the email so I certainly expect to get this $20 back. FYI I did this in conjunction with a B&N.com 25% off coupon and another 10% off with AAA discount (see seperate thread on this discount).
