PayPal question : Text message verification

Apologies if this has been discussed. Before I can be signed in to PayPal from my home computer, I have to input my cell # so they can text me a code for me to enter. This just started in the last few weeks.

From my cell I can just sign on with no extra verification needed.

Anyone else experience this? Is this a new standard policy?

 

Strange. Hasn't happened to me at all. Maybe contact their helpdesk about it?

 

I've had this on occasion for quite some time now but I can't remember for how long - but I only get it when I'm signing in for the first time on a new device. So, if it's a laptop I've never used before - or I even had it happen just last weekend: I wiped my cell Phone and restored as new - and when i loaded the Paypal app on it - They sent me a text with a verification code to enter into the app.

But - I only need to do this once ever on my computers...
