Is this new? Is it required for all "buyers"? (i.e., does this happen to you, or is it just me?).

I haven't paid for goods and services via PayPal for a few months but, last week, while attempting to pay for a CD on the forum classifieds, I entered the seller's email address and payment amount, and then I was transferred to a page asking for the payment recipient's full name and country of residence, which I did not know.

    Is this the norm now?

    Thanks,
    Ivan

If you enter in an e-mail address that's "unusual", and you're off by one letter, I have seen them ask what country the recipient lives in - but as soon as you correct the spelling, all is well.

This was it. The seller sent an email address that contained a typo. Thanks!
