On the heels of the recent Mr Rogers mashup(Garden In Your Mind), PBS released this wonderful little video. It could substitute for therapy.

The Late Bob Ross died of cancer in 1995 at 52. My late Mother In Law was a fan as he would knock out a painting in 25 minutes.

I know people seem to rave about these PBS remixes, but honestly, I can't stand them. Autotune, especially when it's used so heavily, is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Ugh!

As for autotune, to each his own, I suppose. The songs are masterfully composed and are extremely catchy, and it seems pretty clear: you can't make these remixes without autotune since they aren't singing to begin with.

If these help turn on a new generation of viewers to the magic of guys like Mister Rogers and Bob Ross, then I'd say mission accomplished. These aren't targeted at the traditional PBS audience.

That's great. I'll still watch Bob if I happen to catch him on.

As a PBS kid, I grew up watching Bob Ross. Pretty cool thing they did, but the Mr. Rogers auto tune was better.

    I love Bob Ross.

Used to get home from work around 3 just in time to watch him. I got half way thru the show and always fell asleep.

I ended up buying a bunch of his paints etc and started painting, only they never came out like his.

I always wondered whatever happened to the paintings he did.

I believe many of them were donated or sold.

You'd think by now you would hear about some of those being sold at auction or something.

I'd sure love to own one.

Contact his estate through his website- you may be able to buy one but they're probably expensive.

Bob Ross was my high school meditation. I wish they would release all of the seasons to watch, even if it's just streaming.

Okay, let me rephrase: I wish that the Bob Ross seasons weren't $46 for a 6.5 hour dvd set. That price is ridiculous.

Yeah, but it's a niche product that probably doesn't sell all that well. I can sort of understand the pricing.

Check Amazon for used copies. Save a few bucks anyway.

I'm not a fan of Auto-Tune, but this was cute. Just the way he could make perfect trees-I could never master it.

When artists use auto-tune as a crutch, that's bad! These people are supposed to be singers and arists.
In the case of PBS' videos: well to me, this validates Auto-tune because Bob and Fred were NOT professional singers or ever tried to be! This is clever fun.

Fred Rogers recorded countless songs and had an OK voice. My sister listened to them all the time while growing up. And I think any one of them is better than the remix. Yeah, it may be clever, but I still think it's awful musically.

Just watching Bob paint is quite a good stress-reliver.

It's still far better than almost anything I've heard on the radio or on MTV recently, both musically and lyrically.
