Thanks, although actually the majority of my record collection is secondhand so I don’t necessarily prefer new cuts (especially with the number of issues I’ve had with non-fill etc.) but I’m interested in getting Please on vinyl and the used copies I’ve seen have been pretty tatty. I’ve got Actually secondhand and that’s a great copy. I’ll prob get Please and then maybe Introspective. I’m not a massive fan but I like quite a few of their early singles and the Greatest Hits is really hard to find.

Ahh, sorry for the assumption! I've only seen one Please out and about around here, Still sealed a few years ago surprisingly, of course I snagged it :)
For Actually the one I had for decades was pretty noisy so I went online and found a N/M 2x12 re-issue for dirt cheap.

Only a few really small differences, like a different "ohh" vocal bit in I Want To Wake Up. Plus minor variations on the Further Listening discs.

2:22 2009 pause in the beat, 2017 no pause. Was the one I noticed off hand.
The PSB forums I think outlined a few others

Falling in love with Elysium again. What a wonderful and beautiful album, so much more interesting than the Stuart Price produced "bangers" they moved on to next. Almost as good as Behavior.

I plan on picking up the Nightlife reissue. I remember blasting that album in the car while going to clubs on many late nights.

    The Elysium reassessment starts here!

It's a lovely album. Not perfect, but any album with Leaving, Memory of the Future or Requiem can't be dismissed like it has been.

Winner as lead single did them no favors. And it isn't aging gracefully to my ears either!

Its a lot better than most people remember it to be. Its what I call an honest album, looking back at life. Leaving for me is easily in their top 5 singles of all time and as a person over the age of 40, I kinda get what Tenant is singing about in Invisible and Requiem is a nice way to end the album. I kinda feel that part of the problem at the time of the album being released is thats it wasnt what the general public and fans wanted and then of course the Electric album was quickly released afterwards and people moved on and forgot about Elysium.

I think thats the problem with that track jeffmo789. If it had remained a album track and not the lead single people would not have such a problem with it.

The Andrew Dawson (the producer) Extended Happy Sad remix is nice.

I'll check out the remix, thanks.

I was going to say that Winner should have been a b-side, but as we all know those are usually quite special and of a certain standard for PSB...

So I'm with Bob60 on this one!

Interestingly enough, I heard @c-eling has this song on repeat in the bread mobile, and he claims you really havent heard the true power of this anthem until you've felt the sound waves echoed off frozen Kings Hawaiian sweet rolls.....:D

They should’ve given it to whoever was the Harry Styles of 2012 and left it alone from there.
