Yeah, there's quite a few funny lines in that.. "This gives you access to all three days of Curveball and GA campgrounds. If you are bringing a vehicle you must also purchase a vehicle camping pass (1 per car or RV). If you are bringing Terry, you must also purchase snacks or he’ll never shut up about it."
Feels like as good a time as any to revisit MSG Hood Guy from 12/29/16 (0:15 and again at 1:30). Everyone's been him at one time or another...
Billy Breathes is getting the vinyl treatment for RSD 2018, for those interested. Phish Schedule Limited Edition _Billy Breathes_ Record Store Day Release
I didn't see that. But I'm not really in the market for Phish vinyl, so I didn't read the details - just passing it along. That kinda stinks though. This is my favorite Phish studio record, I have many fond memories from when it came out.
My favorite, too. Common knowledge was this was the last analog Phish record. Now we know it was Hoist. Huge bummer.
Why do this? Honest question. Phish is a multimillion dollar organization. Why not cut this correctly?
If that's true, then the DAT step doesn't make any sense (unless the analog master was lost?). I thought by this point that Steve Lillywhite was tracking to tape but mixing to digital. My recollection is that this is how the Dave Matthews Band albums he produced were done, but I could be wrong.
I just recently "discovered" Round Room. Never gave it many plays, I guess I'm guilty of anti-newer stuff bias, but man that is a fun album.
Here's so info for you, I don't know if it answers questions or creates more but: "Overall, the band recorded a dozen two-inch reels in the May session, which, added to the total made up over fifty reels. Many of those were fifteen-inch reels, which the band sometimes chooses because they hold nearly twice as much tape as standard ten-inch diameter reels and therefore need to be changed less often, allowing for less interruption. Starting May 18th, much of the twenty-four track two-inch analog reels were transferred to digital. On the 21st, some vocal overdubs were recorded...." http://phish.com/band/may-1996/
