This week's set is a day late, but nevertheless, here it is... FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #356 » Some highlights: Love the guy behind Chico!
There's a new selection up: FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #357 » And here's a selection from that selection:
British comedian Frankie Howerd as acting teacher Sam Ahab, of the "Sam Ahab School of Transcendental Elocution", with The Beatles in a scene deleted from Help! The blonde is Wendy Richard, who would later star in the BBC sitcom Are You Being Served? Stop Worrying: A Tribute To The Beatles Film "HELP!" - Deleted Scenes: The Sam Ahab School of Transcendental Elocution »
It's about that time again and there's another selection of picture here: FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #358 » And the highlights...
Here's a pretty cool shot I hadn't seen before from Bewitched, revealing some of the magic... And a strange shot from Batman, which shows why the rearscreen shots always looked so bad in those 1960s/1970s shows...
For all I know it was a stand-in, or maybe somebody stole Batman's identity. But it's definitely from the 1966 show.
Posted way earlier in the day than it should be, here's this week's bunch: FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #359 » ... including: And many, many more.
Bob Denver, Kit Smythe (as Ginger), and Nancy McCarthy (as Bunny) in "Marooned", the unaired original pilot of Gilligan's Island. Note Bunny's very visible navel -- would this have been censored for broadcast?
After a week's necessary break, we're back in business with this selection: FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #360 » Highlights? Maybe these:
A new week and a new collection available here: FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #361 » These are my highlights:
"Here's looking at you on the set, kid." Bogart was a little shorter in real life than he seemed on-screen, so he wore these lifts (I think 3-4") in order to be able to look down slightly on Ingrid Bergman.
A day late, but here's a link to this week's selection: FRIDAY NIGHT BOYS: FRIDAY NIGHT BOY COOL #362 » And a brief sample thereof (very brief in the case of the first one...):
"Considering our respective heights, I am forced to conclude that this town is, in fact, big enough for the both of us."
Notice anything weird about this picture? It's obviously been staged to put Mr. Karloff among a raft of pre-code horror comics. The top of the rack shows the Comic Code Authority seal, which wasn't established until late 1954, but the EC Comics shown were released over a year earlier. Haunt of Fear #17 was dated Oct/Nov 1953, and Tales From the Crypt #38 was released even before that (Jan/Feb 1953). IMO, the picture would have had to have come from 1955 or later, as it probably took some time to get "CCA-ified" comics and racks into stores.
Brilliant stuff, Ed. I particularly love the shots from The Fisher King, one of my all-time favorite movies. Thanks for Sharing.
