  1. As much as I would love to find any of these RSD Pink Floyd releases, I have completely stopped looking or even caring. Struck up conversations with the Managers of the various Record Stores I know, and they all say they try to order them in, but never actually get them. Rarer than Hen's Teeth. I've heard stories that they are picked up by many for ebay profit. Never bothered to look.

The transfer they are using is already out there in digital....

I'm good with what I have then. I have no interest in having vinyl distortion added to the sound.

If you have the Syd Barrett Tapes version 2 you already have it minus the vinyl noise :D

I have the raw transfer as well. I was hoping they did a new hi-res transfer of the tape for release, but if it's the same old 44/16 transfer, I don't need it.

Do you know if they used the raw transfer for the RSD release or one of the remastered boots?

Seems that this was not so much a proper studio. It was recorded on a 2-track machine, a stereo tape deck and mix desk set up in the spare bedroom of his father's country house near Hemel Hempstead by Richard Thomson, a British Rail employee.

I think it's the 2 track machine minus the slide whistle and harmonica.

4000 copies!? No need to queue for this one - it'll be around for months.

What were the quantities on the previous one? Under 2000, right?

The '65 2x7" was 2,500 I think. It's still going for £100+ on discogs. Expect it'll drop once Cambridge St/ation gets a standalone release.

The pink See Emily Play 7" from a few years ago has dropped in price, but that has songs easily available elsewhere.

The distribution on RSD titles is often stupid. You'll get titles "selling out" on the day at many shops, but they're still readily available elsewhere and where it "sold out" - those places end up getting more. Loads of RSD releases by big acts are essentially worthless after the event because for most titles they now press more than there is genuine demand. Copies also get held up in locations where there's simply no demand - the '65 release was very limited, under the radar and went to shops where they'd fly out.

All vinyl releases are" limited" , and 4000 will easily cover demand in the short term.

I am reading that this is NOT a RSD release, and that it will be released on April 15, is this correct?
