I hope we get official information soon.
Meanwhile, I guess I'll have to take several of these --->:chill::chill::chill::chill:

15 discs. That's going to be inclusive of the 7" singles pictured.

Could it be possible that this includes Syd solo/live/unreleased stuff too? DG producing some Syd stuff could bring it into the box? Or is that not an option due to copyright? Or simply a terrible idea also haha?

Why would they pull the image? I don't get why these kinds of things have to be so uber-secret, it's not like there is a competitive Pink Floyd out there that is going to beat them to the punch....

It's to make sure we don't start complaining too early about missed oppertunities, botched releases etc etc etc

I bet you all it's gonna be a missed opportunity. What a crappy remastering job! :nyah:

It's an image from their 1968 program an it looks like a repro is being included in this box set.

The image was never displayed, it was hidden and I found it via HTML search. All official releases have a marketing strategy which includes a reveal in an official announcement. Guess we spoiled the fun (for them) with this one.

I really don't need any more copies of Piper and Saucerful (ok, a mono version of the latter would be cool).
The only way that would work for me is to issue a chronological 1965-1968 set. The Piper and Saucerful tracks, the singles, the rarities and the unreleased stuff. In order of recording date. That would paint an awesome picture of Syd's Floyd.

Same. For me at this point, what I'm mainly interested is gathering all of the non-album singles and B-sides from this era, as well as the unreleased studio cuts ("Scream Thy Last Scream," "Vegetable Man," etc)

I thought the big recent find was Sweden live with Syd?

  12. Where are all these recent "big finds" mentioned at? People have been talking about stuff I have never heard of being found or available and I have shelffuls of Floyd rarities

I believe that is privately owned, or at least was at the time when it was previewed to a captive audience. No vocals unfortunately (just like the other two Syd-era gigs) so I assume it'd be a no go for the box.

What I'm most interested in is music and video we have never heard or seen before. Like demos, outtakes and unreleased songs.
Scream Thy Last Scream and Vegetable Man would be great to have officially, but I've heard them both before many times. Furthermore I'm interested in footage of Syd in 1966/67 and a completely restored KQED :)

But a box of stuff from 1965 - 1972 with lots of rare stuff just sounds delicious ;)

Oh, it's out there as an audience copy of a soundboard, as strange a lineage as possible!

I'll be happy if the original studio version of "Embryo" is in this set.

15 CDs! Why? But if it was 15CDs of syd-era it might be good – in a fantasy kind of sense.

Same, although IIRC the band were none too happy when it was released on the Harvest comp in the early 1970s so not sure it's high on their priority list!

I just hope it was a Floyd marketing person's Photoshop wet dream and not what we're really getting and what we really need.

Oh I know...that's how I have the song. It's a pain in the ass to find, though!

Except that my band, Pink Lloyd is readying a multi disc box set of our 1965 to 1972 period, featuring our dearly missed founder member Sid Barnett....

CD2 - Piper at the gates of dawn demos & outtakes
    CD3 - Live at BBC 1967
    CD4 - "Games for May" live 1967
    CD5 - Saucerful... demos & outtakes
    CD6 - Ummagumma live soundboards
CD7 - "The man and the journey" live
    CD8 - Live at BBC 1970
    CD9 - Live at BBC 1971
CD10 - AHM and Meddle demos & outtakes
CD11 - Smoking gun - live at Montreux (unreleased live album)

I'm with you: We don't need to buy the regular studio albums yet again, after most of us snagged the last batch of remasters. I also have no interest in paying for vinyl that I will never use. Please guys, don't make me sell a vital organ just to buy this mega-box.
