That's more of Rick doodling on his own apart from the band but I guess some of that 3 hour session could have been included.

  2. That is a fantastic point. These labels are in over their head on these huge archival projects if they solely rely on internal knowledge. I've seen it happen again and again across music releases.

I didn't know that the session was 3 hours!

I thought that it showed some thought by the BBC to play "Autumn 68" at the beginning of the radio show of 20th September 2016 during which they pre-viewed the release of the Early Years Box Set, by drawing from the BBC archives.
The programme then went on to play quite a good brief overview of the material:

    Flaming - BBC Session 1967
Murderistic Woman - BBC Session 1968
Let There Be More Light - BBC Session 1968
Point Me At The Sky - BBC Session 1968
    Cymbaline – BBC Session 1969
The Narrow Way - BBC Session 1969
Fat Old Sun - BBC Session 1970
    If – BBC Session 1970
One Of These Days - BBC Session 1971
    Embryo - BBC Session 1971

Not sure whether the programme may become available through the BBC iPlayer system.

Great photo and an example of how all us SHF types buy the same products! Floyd box does waste a lot of space and for a band I always associate with high quality product (sound, compositions, packaging, photos etc) I was very disappointed with the presentation of the material. Really would have been nice to have a good photo book included covering those years (eg. those great OBC recording photos). When will we get the relevant albums in a high resolution form sacd, blu-ray or download?

Where are you going to put the Pulse vinyl box? There's no room for it!

I could always turn TEY box sideways but Toby may object. :yikes:

I know that Rontoon's cat is an important deal, but why the 1969 menu song wasn't included on the discs?

Can I get a confirmation that there is no SBD of OBC tracks? That is sad if so...

That's a good question. Still remains unanswered here.

I hope folk do not mind but does anyone know for sure which tracks on the original vinyl Relics were fake stereo? I am assuming all the cds issues used proper stereo or mono. Is that correct?

I’ve said it elsewhere, but if you’re looking for the book that should have been in the box, get the book from Their Mortal Remains museum retrospective. It’s great.

"Arnold Layne" and "See Emily Play" were given the fake stereo treatement.

Has it become clearer what the Dramatis/ation menu music is/where it comes from?
I think I read somewhere that there was a suggestion of hidden content on a disc...(?)

What an amazing promo for the Early Years Box Set.
The set list was like an amended/extended version of Relics, too.
All pre-DSOTM material: it's been labelled "There is no Dark Side at the Half-Moon" elsewhere! :)

Big Floydian announcement coming next week. I'm wondering if I should start a new thread or wait? Could be Gilmour's ground breaking news that I heard about a while back.

Unless it is related to this box set, I'd start a new thread.

Live Tour Release from 'Animals' 1977 Tour?
Seems to early to announce Mono Saucerful of Secrets for 2019 RSD or even 2018 Black Friday RSD.
Or one final album of New Music from Gilmour?

Question: If I start a new thread to speculate this announcement will the title of the thread be able to be changed after the announcement? Gorts?
