Rontoon, do you know what happened to the footage of 'Set the Controls' shot by Tony Palmer in Abbey Mills Pumping Station, March 1968 (three takes and a final cut), and why it isn't include in the set ?
    It's a huge missing.

They opted for the broadcast version instead.

If that's the reason, it's quite sad. The outtakes/offcuts weren't shot at the same location and aren't obviously the same performances. For a complete picture of that era, it would have been a nice addition.

One of many things that would have been nice to include. It also could have been an issue of rights and securing the film which was purchased by the late Rolf Ossenburg.

Hmm, are there any informations what happened with the master tape after using it in the film?
The reason about omitting it in the box set, I think, is either the copyright holder, or the original tape didn't survive through the years (or is in very bad shape). But this is just another guess...

Pretty sure it was a copyright issue. I'm still amazed at the amont of clearance they were able to get for this release.

I can't remember if that is up or down from the original price.

The original price that I locked in at was 313.33. The price has gone up since then (it's currently 375.99) but the exchange rate has dropped dramatically since Brexit.

I locked in at same price as you. Exchange rate has gone up slightly since yesterday. What was our original $$ amount when we ordered?

Long may the Pound plummet! (Only until November 11, then a speedy recovery for our UK friends!)

Seriously, make the most of it; I'll take comfort that at least someone is getting something out of our self inflicted predicament with the plummeting pound.

NOTE: Not taking a political position here, nor wanting to precipitate ANY political discussion. Just noting the falling pound is causing price rises for imported goods here in the UK, but our exports (including Pink Floyd boxsets) are becoming more attractive by the day!

Now back to The Endless River in 5.1 DTS-MA :D

  24. So is it too late for US folks to take advantage of the Amazon UK price / currency conversion situation?

I'm pre-ordered through Amazon.com (US) [have been since day #1], and I'm pretty skeptical of getting something like this shipped from overseas -- but if the cost is now below $400, that really is kinda tempting (even if I really don't want to get it from all the way across the pond).

The price would currently be about $460. Ya snooze, ya lose.
I always immediately pre-order from both Amazon US and UK to lock in the best prices w/o being charged in advance. It was only today that I cancelled my US order since there's no way it'll catch up to the UK price. Never had an issue with Amazon UK.
