Pink Floyd - "The Endless River" -- New Release October 2014 (Part Two)

Nope. It's in the can and ready to go.

 

After today's U2 release, maybe Pink Floyd has some surprise up their sleeves. Not saying a free release, but maybe something other than the standard that would explain why we haven't heard much.

It likely won't be until mid-October until we hear more info on this album, being that the release date was pushed back a bit.

It's unlikely to be anything like what U2 did. I believe it was pushed back only to coincide with whenever the Pink Floyd Mortal Remains Exhibit date was postponed to.

 

Is the 15 September the Date for the NEWS about the Album? (REMEMBER Rick!)

 

Nothing has been announced other than "more info at the end of the summer". So it could be Monday (which is the 15th). And although it would coincide with Rick's passing, with the fact that he's posthumously on the album, I don't think the album is actually a direct tribute to him, or at least as much as one as WYWH was to Barrett. All that's been said is that this could be seen as his swansong.

it is weird we havent gotten more info... mid September and nothing it migt be delayed until November maybe. Unless they do something like U2.

According to Rontoon, the release date is 11-10 for Europe and 11-11 for the US.

 

Nice! Europe gets it a month early!

 

Edit, actually, a day early. Nov. 10 for EU and Nov.11 for US.

I would not expect anything substantial as far as news until closer to the release date. This isn't pre-internet, when it took a long time for information to be disseminated.

 

I'm not sure what people are expecting. There is still some weeks before release, we pretty much have all the other information.

I'm sure some sort of pre-release hype should occur within the next week or so, though. If not, then it would almost seem as if the band want nothing to do with the album--no tour, no hype, nothing. But I suppose it isn't uncommon.

Pre-Orders should be put up any day now, at least. You know, some people would like to be guaranteed a copy on release day.
