Yep, there's the slow boat to heaven cover, plain as day.

Cripes. I wonder how Rick would have felt about that little home movie of him rehearsing on the Royal Festival Hall organ in '69 being lifted and grafted into unrelated material 45 years later. Zombification indeed.

I've heard they (Jackson, Gilmour and Mason) were considering doing the same thing with Wright's performances of AMLOR material from the live shows they have in multitrack form — "flying in" his playing with ProTools or the like to remake the studio album from scratch.

What would Rick have thought? I'm not sure. When Roger used part of the Earl's Court Pink Floyd footage of himself on his Wall tour for "Mother", he got called a narcissist and all sorts of other nasty things. When PF does much the same thing with their dead buddy's organ playing, do they get called out?

it looks like from the deluxe track listing that there will be at least 2 Big Spliff tracks as bonus tracks

Its not narcissistic if you're paying tribute to someone you care about, yourself not included.

I understand that, but there were also objections on the grounds of "don't mess with our memories of your past by appropriating it to do what you are now doing". I think those people will be doubly upset at this appropriation. Doesn't bug me, I just care if the music is good or not.

"Anisina" is Turkish for "In Memory Of."

Was curious. I am 33 pages into thread 1. When did Gilmore ( just kidding) Gilmour's wife get heavily involved in David's career. I had no idea she was his lyric writer.

    Just wondering.

    Thanks!

  9. That sounds like two completely different things if you are comparing to something being narcissistic. The narcissism in that case would have been what people were upset with - but if that doesn't exist here then how is it similar?

  10. She first appeared on The Division Bell. I really enjoy her work, she is a very talented lady- deeply ethnic and erotic. She is a author by trade. She never sat out to write lyrics for the Floyd. Gilmour simply asks her, and she assists. It's much better than Dave trying to do it himself. I find her contributions essential to the modern (1987) Pink Floyd and find it no hinderence in anyway, unlike many others, which I find surprising.

No, Polly Samson did not contribute to Momentary Lapse--I don't think Gilmour even knew her at that point--only The Division Bell.

I think she first got involved on The Division Bell 7 years later.

  15. OK OK Alright, duly noted and fixed. I am at work and was trying to assist. No big deal.

When I have time, I'll look in the notes to AMLOR, I was sure she was credited on there, if not my apologies to the galleries. Thanks for the heads-up.

"Autumn '68" - is it safe to guess Richard wrote that? :p

I still wonder what the Bluray/DVD content is, whether it fill feature some kind of visual extras or "only" high-res, 5.1 or whatever versins of the album itself...
