I was thumbing through some LP's today and think my eyes might be playing tricks on me. I thought I saw a Please Please Me LP with a mono Parlophone jacket and a purple, 80's-early 90's Capitol label pressing inside. I'm wondering now if maybe I didn't look close enough (i.e. the wrong vinyl in the jacket).

I was aware of the rainbow label "US title" 80's Capitol LP pressings...even the ones labeled stereo that were actually mono mixes. My question is: was Please, Please Me issued too on *purple* label Capitol (i.e. export??), or do I need glasses? Maybe a vacation?

    thanks,
    Dave

I think I might have found my own answer. Is this simply the post '87 "Digitally Remastered" LP version? I guess, I thought that those were issued only on the rainbow label. But, purple label must exist too. Later (early 90's) pressing?

Sigh...and here I thought it might be something cool. : (

    David -

The 90's digitally remastered LP's have purple labels, and the first four albums are mono.
