Please recommend a power cord/cable for Garrard

    I just recd my refurbished Gerrard 301
    I now need to wire in a cable.
    Do I also need a cable with a ground?

    I don't know anything about US electricity, so can't answer, but do you have any pictures of the Garrard?

    You're replacing the current AC cable with a new one? From looking at online pictures, it looks like common 18/2 lamp cord will work. And no, I don't see a grounded cable (like 18/3) in the attached picture.

    Okay, my 301 is still awaiting it's full restoration, (the budget is being redirected towards the Bill Evans box), then I need to choose a plinth which is why I like seeing what others have gone for, I do have a 12" SME, that was an easier choice than which plinth.

    I'm a little surprised that a refurbished 301 is returned without a power connection installed, even if it just an unterminated power cable. JMHO.

    Just make sure the cable isn't too chunky so it doesn't pull the motor out of alignment.
