Being that he put a halt to the deluxe editions and has since put out NOTHING but Saturday Night Fever-centric greatest hits sets.....

I honestly don't feel like Barry's going to put out any further vault material. He's convinced there's no interest (despite the warm reception to the Robin box, which I don't believe he had anything to do with).

The second I finished voting I got chills because I had just remembered The British Opera, emotional stuff! Anyways, excellent idea for a poll, I thought I was in the very small minority that loved this one.

    I miss Robin immensely.

  11. 'Tis a masterpeace. My go-to is the Canadian reissue from 1976 on RSO..All 4 sides cut by RL. Sounds incredible

You probably already know this, but Masterpeace (sic) was one of the working titles for this album in '68 before the double LP came about.

They had a few other session people help them. But I amazed on how instrumentation they provided on Odessa, especially Robin (!)

Barry Gibblead, harmony and background vocals; rhythm guitar
Robin Gibb – lead, harmony and background vocals; organ, piano and Mellotron
Maurice Gibb – harmony and background vocals; rhythm and lead guitars; bass guitar; piano and Mellotron; lead vocals on "Suddenly" and "Melody Fair"
Vince Melouney – lead guitar on "Whisper, Whisper", "Marley Purt Drive", "Give Your Best", "Sound of Love", "I Laugh in Your Face" and "Edison" guitar (and on three additional songs?)

The competition between brothers Barry and Robin was feirce during this time before Robin left.

The music on the above box set will show you how creative Robin was during his departure from the Brothers Gibb.

With poor Maurice caught in the middle.

Maurice and Robin made up pretty quickly during the time they were broken up.

    Maurice later said:

Robin had always wanted to go solo, so when it happened I wasn't angry at all. I understood the situation. But Barry is so full of pride and couldn't understand why Robin had done it.

Ya know a great point you point out. King Kong vs. Godzilla and Bambi in between.
    Poor Maurice.

Yep :agree:. Which is why I think a lot of people (or me at least lol) see this as his theme song:
