I think I'll just have to vote against the usual suspects every time and pretend it was a sincere choice. It will be more fun..

No, it's a song...And your idea of a good opening song may differ from somebody else's.

If 21st Century Schizoid Man isn't an attention grabber, I'm not sure what is.

It's too bad there's no Mike Oldfield album..

I would prefer the Blondie song myself but if it's considered lesser than the KC song by others then so be it.

I have never heard it before so...

Now having heard it, some of it is 'almost' Yes and I liked it - a possible vote from me in future rounds.

That's a live version. Unfortunately King Crimson makes it nearly impossible for anyone to upload proper studio versions.

To my ears though, the Blondie track is a trite, new-wave jingle. I would turn the volume on the radio down if it came on, it's so mind numbingly dreary.

The Crimson track, as bog standard as it is, would at least make me give track two of the album a listen, which is where, for me at least, KC's debut album comes alive (I love the other four tracks).

Curiously though, these tracks aside, I probably prefer the music of Blondie. Go figure!

Blondie and B 52's are my choices.
I think I'm in the minority.

I love Blondie but why choose that? It's a carbon copy cover.

You listened to that first instead of the studio version?

#MeToo had problems finding the original King Crimson, and it didn't make me less grumpy. My streaming service didn't have any King Crimson. At last I found the cut, and it sounds like good music to me - don't get me wrong. It's just this "opening song" theme I'm worried about..

Is there a lot of difference? I just clicked on the first one that came up.

I love the Blondie track and it would have been my first pick had it turned up in several of the other rounds, but it can't “hang” with KC or “Gimme Shelter”.
