As a cleverly-written (not just lyrics, but chord changes and syncopated jumps) song, "Say It Isn't So" floats my boat.
It may not be the greatest love ballad in existence, but "One On One" is the first song on my "boudoir" playlist. It floats my...um, close that curtain, honey...?
"Method Of Modern Love" is just so stylistically musically-descriptive of its' time*. Only an artist so established at this point could have gotten a hit out of that.

(*not of music of its' time...just the point in history for the age group it was for.)

I wish I could have also picked I Can't Go For That and Out of Touch. I really like Hall and Oates. I've got their Essential collection, which I've kept through many purges.

That's the one thing that always reminds me of Hall & Oates. Their videos. They did make some of the cheesiest videos in the '80s.

This is not a dig at Darryl Hall & John Oates. I absolutely love them and only choosing 3 in this poll was cruel.

Lol, I should've known you did a single poll for them. Put this ones just their biggest and most recognizable hits.

Hard to pick, because I love them all, but I went with "Rich Girl", "Did It in a Minute" and "Adult Education".

    She's Gone.

Yea, the later stuff was catchier, but there was blood and tears on the floor of this one. The big lead up to Daryl's "big notes" may seem hokey in retrospect, but Daryl delivers the good. This is a passionate, lyrically rich song sung with passion.

Sara Smile - smooth Philly Soul, like melted butter

She's Gone - Darryl Hall's wide ranging vocals explode on this track

I Can't Go For That - great catchy rhythm that just latches on, and won't let go

Maneater - by this time, Hall & Oates' string of hits was as flawless as any other pop band

I really like most of the Live From Daryl's House episodes I've seen, but never liked any Hall and Oates songs. So, I'm choosing the Mike Oldfield song. :shh:

Impressive that they could do a full set list consisting of only top 10 hits, by the way
