Tough to choose just five, because the whole list is pretty great, but I went with the White Album, Anthem of the Sun (perhaps the most underrated album of that year?), Electric Ladyland, Beggar’s Banquet, and Music From Big Pink.

More 1968 favorites, not included in the poll:

Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets

Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends (minus “Voices of Old People”)

Deep Purple - their first two albums (Loves me some Mk. 1)

The Monkees (most seriously) - Head soundtrack

There are a ton of albums listed that are not on the poll. All are great albums. I've got one that is one of my favorite lp's of all time, I don't believe it has been mentioned.

    Realization by Johnny Rivers.

There's a lot more to this lp than just the chart hit 45 "Summer Rain" and its follow up 45"Look To Your Soul." It has great versions of "Hey Joe", Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade Of Pale", and Bob Dylan's "Positively 4th Street." My favorite songs on the lp is "Something Strange", and "What's The Difference."

A man who should be in the Rock and roll HOF. That's Johnny Rivers.

  8. The Moody Blues - In Search of the Lost Chord
    The Beatles - White Album
The Doors - Waiting for the Sun
    Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
    Cream - Wheels of Fire

It was a tough choice between the Moody Blues and the Rolling Stones, but I'm basing this list on albums I actually bought at the time. I'm surprised Cream is so low on the survey.
