Disclaimer- I am a gigantic fan of every era of Macca, very much so including "later era" McCartney, whatever that might mean to anyone (from "Flaming Pie" onwards?).
This is probably my least fave Macca album since "Press To Play- meaning I prefer everything from "Flowers In The Dirt" onward over "Egypt Station".
This is after just a couple listens... some could grow & maybe a song or two from the second tier could climb into the top, but I doubt my overall impression of a not terrible, but kind of lesser album, will change.

I choose to focus on what there is to dig... and there's enough here for me to cobble together a decent edited custom CD-R that will elevate to a more rewarding personal listening experience.

The Best songs on the album (these got my initial votes)-
    "Happy With You"
    "Confidante"
    "Hand In Hand"
    "Dominoes"
(*heard great things about "Getting Started"- a bonus track... haven't heard it yet...)

The Next Best songs on the album-
    "Come On To Me"
    "Who Cares"
    "People Want Peace"
    "Do It Now"
    "Caesar Rock"
    "Despite Repeated Warnings"
    "Hunt You Down"/"Naked"/"C-Link"
    "Opening Station"
    "Station II"

"Getting Started" is better than at least half of the proper album tracks. Miles ahead of some of them.

Hand in Hand was the only one I really liked and that I would go back to.

Not voting yet, too soon to tell. To me it's all very good and the Target bonus tracks certainly aren't throwaways.

Seems like I like this new album a lot. Can't name any lesser song yet.

Just amazing where and how does he find inspiration of such strength to write his songs???

Look, he's more cheerful and joyful and free now than he used to be even in his best times.

If only he didn't get old...

Me too! "Confidante" seems like the clear most underrated//overlooked/misunderstood top notch track on the album!!!

I'm slowly warming up to a few songs... both "Do It Now" & "Despite Repeated Warnings" have jumped up to the top, vote getting, level & "I Don't Know" now makes the secondary level...
Revised, in process, take on the album now...

It took me a while to take this song seriously, but now that I'm over the silliness of the title it is a really good song.

"Back in Brazil" is a little quirky burst of sunshine. It's the "Temporary Secretary" of the collection. You probably either love it, or . . . . I love it!

I am starting to enjoy it too. I do wish he'd taken a different approach with the title. As a melody, it really works...but it's still tough to get past the cringe factor for me.

I just picked three songs from my initial five listens.

    "Dominoes"
    "Back In Brazil"
    "Despite Repeated Warnings "

I might add others after further listening.
