Never heard of Russ Garcia - and that clip in post 2 doesn't make me upset about that...

I know who Russ Garcia is, and like his work. As soon as I can locate a copy of this LP in playable condition, it will be in my collection.

Yes, in mono and stereo (one of each).

Same here, although I would add neither does the clip in post 5.

I doubt neither of us are upset about that either. :shh:

Is he the guy who arranged and wrote Soft Warm Lips for April Stevens?

Garcia also composed the music for The Time Machine - the 1960 film with Rod Taylor & Yvette Mimieux (sigh).

Very hard to find record. The mono and the stereo are very different. The orchestra is miked differently, and the sound effects are different. Garcia preferred the mono version. I like both.

The album is/was available on CD from Basta Records.

i am still trying to find a reaonably priced copy of his "sounds in the night"

no where near as dramatic or futuristic, but really quality moody music.

No. No it is not. And if that clip is any indication, I shall continue to endeavor with my inherent paralellogramism, if it's all the same to you, sir. :realmad:

Bought the record when released and the cd recently. Sounds more like Star Trek music today which is not a bad thing at all.

I have that from a EU public domain release on Real Gone Jazz. I bought all four volumes of Les Baxter. After buying those, I find Les Baxter to be kind of hit or miss and more often miss. His best stuff is right up there with Martin Denny or Arthur Lyman. Music Out of the Moon is one of the misses for me though. African Jazz and Jungle Jazz are my favorites.

A good one for Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray to remaster for SACD and vinyl.
